Hide YouTube Live Chat (developed by paixaomp) is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension operates completely locally on your browser without collecting, storing, or transmitting any personal data.

1. Information Collection and Usage

• No Personal Data Collected: We do not collect, monitor, track, or share any personal identification information (such as name, email address, browsing history, or IP address).
• Local Storage & Cookies: The extension only stores your display preferences (whether the chat should be collapsed by default or open) locally on your device using the standard Chrome storage API and local browser cookies for youtube.com. This data never leaves your machine.
• No Analytics or Third-Party Trackers: The extension does not include any analytics software, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising libraries.

2. Permissions Justification

• storage: Used solely to persist your toggle preference (On/Off) across browsing sessions.
• cookies: Used solely to pass the display preference synchronously to YouTube pages at initial page load (document_start), preventing the blank empty sidebar glitch.
• activeTab & scripting: Used to update the chat visibility in real-time on your currently open YouTube tab when toggling the extension icon or using the shortcut (Alt+Shift+C), eliminating the need to refresh the page.
• Host Permission (*://*.youtube.com/*): Necessary to apply layout adjustments and collapse/expand the chat interface exclusively on YouTube pages.
